Privacy Policy
plot is a writing app designed to keep your manuscript files under your control while supporting optional account and publishing features.
What plot stores on your device
plot stores writing projects locally on your device by default. Project data may include manuscript chapters, notebook notes, branches, covers, images, project metadata, app preferences, and exported files you choose to create.
iCloud Drive storage
If you enable iCloud storage, plot stores your project files in iCloud Drive so they can sync through your Apple ID and iCloud settings. You can manage those files in the Files app.
Account information
If you sign in with Apple, plot receives the account identifier and any name or email information Apple shares with the app. plot uses this account to support publishing to readleaf.co.
Publishing to readleaf.co
If you choose to publish from plot, the app uploads a .leaf bundle and related publication metadata to our backend provider, Supabase. Published metadata may include title, author name, description, writer handle, work slug, source project identifier, file size, update time, and optional cover image.
Published works are unlisted in V0. Anyone with the link can view the work detail page and open or import the work in leaf. Do not publish material you are not ready to share by link.
Network access
plot may access the internet to sign you in with Apple, claim a writer handle, publish work metadata and .leaf files, and open readleaf.co links.
Anonymous usage analytics
plot may use TelemetryDeck to collect anonymous feature-usage analytics, such as app launches, project creation, export formats, publishing success or failure, and leaf handoff success or failure. These events do not include manuscript text, project titles, filenames, writer handles, author names, note contents, or exact writing counts. You can turn this off in plot Settings.
Diagnostics
Apple may provide aggregated crash and performance information to developers through platform services. plot does not include third-party advertising SDKs.
Your choices
You can keep projects local, enable or disable iCloud storage, enable or disable anonymous usage analytics, export your manuscripts, delete projects from the app, sign out, or request deletion of your publishing account.
Account deletion
You can initiate account deletion from plot Settings, or email hello@readleaf.co. Account deletion requests cover your Plot publishing account and writer profile. Local files and iCloud Drive files remain under your control and can be deleted from the app or Files app.
Changes
If we update this policy, we will update the effective date above.
Terms of Use
By using plot, you agree to these terms.
Apple standard EULA
plot uses Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA), available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
Use of the app
plot is provided as is. We may update or change features over time.
Your content
Your manuscripts, notes, project files, and exports remain yours. You are responsible for keeping backups of important work outside the app if you need a separate backup.
Publishing responsibility
You are responsible for ensuring that any material you publish or share through plot is lawful to use, publish, and distribute. Do not publish material that violates copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
Service availability
We work to keep publishing and readleaf.co links reliable, but network services, iCloud Drive, Apple services, and third-party services may be unavailable or change over time.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, plot is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the app.
Support
If you need help, want to report a bug, or want to request account deletion, email hello@readleaf.co.
